How did it feel to wait for it?
Have you ever had hints being dropped about it during that wait?
What were you thinking when you caught those hints?
On Holy Thursday, Jesus was DROPPING HINTS (big ones) about PROMISES God made in the Old Testament to his people.
God promised a UNION with his people (communion) through a SACRIFICE (Jesus' death- that's why he's called the "Lamb of God" who takes away the sins of the world)
These people in history LIVED for, HOPED for, and WAITED anxiously for this promise.
And Jesus dropped the biggest hint today on HOLY THURSDAY, during the LAST SUPPER:
that God's PROMISE to unite with his people would be "fulfilled" through his perfect sacrifice on the cross.
